Who are The Magpie Salute? Here’s another, related, question. Whatever happened to the Black Crowes?

One clue is the fact magpies are birds of the Corvidae (crow) family, considered one of the most intelligent animals in the world.

The Black Crowes musical family split up about two years ago for one reason–money. The brothers Robinson could not settle a disagreement over who should own the name “the Black Crowes.”

Now, former Crowes co-founder and guitarist Rich Robinson has managed to get the band back together, without brother Chris on vocals.  Other Crowe castoffs made the grade: Marc Ford, Eddie Harsch (now deceased), Sven Pipien, Joe Magistro, and a few others make up the Magpie Salute.

Here’s the official launch video for the new incarnation of one of the best blues rocking bands, The Magpie Salute.
