Larkin Poe  is an American roots rock sister duo comprised of Rebecca and Megan Lovell.  Classically trained at a young age on violin and piano while being exposed to rock icons including Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd. Their music has been described as everything from Americana to bluesy bluegrass and folk funk.  The sisters play a long list of instruments including guitar, mandolin, banjo, lap steel, dobro, fiddle while crafting songs that feature the words as prominently as the music backing them.

Rebecca (lead singer ) and Megan Lovell began their musical career in 2005 as teenagers forming the bluegrass/Americana group, the Lovell Sisters with their eldest sister Jessica.  After self-releasing two independent albums and appearing at the Grand Ole Opry and the Bonnaroo Music Festival the sisters announced the group’s disbandment.  Rebecca and Megan regrouped as Larkin Poe the name of the sisters’ great-great-great-great-grandfather.

Between 2010 and 2013 Larkin Poe self-released five independent EPs, two collaboration albums and a live performance DVD.  Both sisters also toured as backing musicians for a variety of other bands including Elvis Costello, Conor Oberst and Keith Urban.

In 2014 T Bone Burnett tapped the sisters to record harmonies and instrumentation on The New Basement Tapes album alongside Marcus Mumford, Elvis Costello, Jim James, Rhiannon Giddens and others.

In 2016, the sisters performed their song “Trouble in Mind” from their second album Reskinned on Conan. They also appeared on Steven Tyler’s album We’re All Somebody from Somewhere.  In 2017 Larkin Poe accompanied such artists as Jackson Browne and Don Henley at part of the MusicCares tribute to Tom Petty.

Larkin Poe released Venom & Faith in November 2018.  The Nashville-recorded album topped the Billboard blues album charts in that month. Self Man Man (2020) released June 12, 2020.

Their album of covers recorded in their home studio during lockdown, Kindred Spirits, streeted in November, 2020, and the brand new record, Blood Harmony, released 11/11/2022.
