Gang of Youths is a Sydney, Australian indie rock band consisting of principal songwriter David Le’aupepe (lead vocals, guitar), Max Dunn (bass guitar), Jung Kim (keyboards, guitar), Joji Malani (lead guitar) and Donnie Borzestowski (drums).

Gang of Youths formed in 2012 when band members met attending an evangelical church.  They began work on their debut album, The Positions in 2013.  David Le’aupepe writes the band’s songs and his lyrics on their debut deal with his relationship with his former wife, her melanoma diagnosis and treatment, their separation and his suicide attempts.  The album spawned an Australian top fifty single “Let Me Down Easy,” and was nominated for multiple Australia Recording Industry Music (ARIA) awards.

Gang of Youth’s second album, Go Farther in Lightness debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2017 winning Album Of The Year, Best Group and Best Rock Album at that year’s ARIA Music Awards.

In March 2018 Gang of Youths made their U.S. television debut on Late Night with Seth Myers.  The band supported Foo Fighters for seven nights during their U.S. tour in October 2018.

A single, “Angel of 8th Ave.” released June 15, 2021.

Angel in Realtime is the upcoming third studio album. It was announced on 10 November 2021 and is scheduled for released on 25 February 2022. The album will be supported by a world tour commencing in Dublin on 3 March 2022. Upon announcement, Gang of Youths said the album is “about the life and legacy of Dave [Le’aupepe]’s father, indigenous identity, death, grief and God. And also the Angel, Islington.”
